Libertas II is available for fishing charters and sightseeing trips ranging from a single day to several nights. We offer total flexibility in itinerary, activities (fishing or otherwise) and catering arrangements. You tell us what you want and our relaxed, friendly team will make it happen.
A typical two-night Libertas charter from Auckland might consist of:
- A helicopter flight from Mechanics Bay to Mountain Landing in the Bay of Islands to join Libertas II
- Snapper fishing, scallop diving and swimming in the Cavalli Islands
- Dinner of spanking fresh seafood and a night anchored in a quiet bay
- A day of open water marlin fishing out at sea
- A night at Mountain Landing’s luxurious Boathouse, dining on fresh fish and swapping stories around the outdoor fireplace

Fully flexible catering options
Libertas II offers a full range of catering options. We can take care of all provisioning, catering and on-board cooking for you. You may wish to supply your own catering or provision and prepare your own meals – or a combination of all these.
Along with a fully equipped galley and on-board barbecue, Libertas II has a dishwasher, a watermaker, three fridges and freezers and an icemaker.
Fine food and wine provisioning
Leave the catering to us and we’ll ensure no shortage of fresh, delicious food, excellent wine and other refreshments throughout your trip. Our on-board cook will prepare and serve fish and other seafood as you catch it, accompanied by the best fresh seasonal produce.
We’ll liaise closely with you before your trip to ensure all provisioning, menus and wine and drinks lists are tailored to your preferences.
Game fishing and other catch
As well as her specialty, marlin, Libertas II is fully equipped to fish for broadbill, tuna, shark, kingfish, snapper and hapuku – whatever your preferred catch might be.
We support predominantly tag and release on our game fishing trips, but you’ll always have the option of keeping your catch on the homeward leg. With plenty of stops to collect scallops, crayfish and smaller eating fish, we’ll do our best to send you home with a full chilly bin.
Diving and other watersports
Libertas II has an on-board dive compressor for those wanting to bring their dive gear along and take advantage of the many superb diving locations in the region.
In addition, we can arrange other activities such as snorkelling, waterskiing and wakeboarding to be enjoyed during your charter.
